Waza Art Center (formerly Picha art center) is an artistic initiative with a dual mission in the context of Lubumbashi:
• Support the artists, researchers, cultural and social actors of Lubumbashi and the region in the development of experimental artistic practices and enable them to create relations between themselves and with the outside world,
• Participate as a civil society actor to an analysis of the posed questions in communities and sharing of knowledge about its environment.
Since 2015, the programming line of the Waza Art Center has been structured around the Kazi 2.0 concept. Waza develop projects around artistic creation, knowledge sharing and social commitment that re-imagines wage labor in big companies such as Gécamines (kazi means salaried work) on the pretext of the bankruptcy of Their paternalistic projects to open up new perspectives of collaboration, emancipation and appropriation.

Waza proposes four main areas of activity: collaborative monthly programming in open space (waza wazi), reflection on the urban landscape through artistic interventions that encourage dialogue with communities (Mitaani projects), research and experimentation of methodologies of alternative pedagogy (Loop’) and the Discursive Workshop of December.
To facilitate exchanges between local and international artists, Waza offers artists residencies and cooperates with various artistic centers in Africa (through the PAN!C platform and the Another Roadmap for Art/s Education Network) and internationally (particularly through the Arts Collaboratory network).
